📣 Do you think a WEBINAR is an event?
As you know, I’m a big believer that event marketing is the best way to build your brand and your business. And, the easiest event to run is a webinar.
Yesterday, I was having a chat with the lovely Heather Joy Basset. I don't know if you've met her, but she's an international speaker and a really great person to lead you through the path of life, self-discovery and business discovery. In our conversation, we discussed the new Zero to Webinar Hero Program that I have recently launched. And as we were talking about it, Heather came up with a really interesting question: "Is a webinar, an event?" And without skipping a beat, I said, "yes," but then we discussed it. And so I said, "To run a webinar we need a digital room, which people come to. We have an audience. It's a place where we share knowledge and it's a place with an opportunity to connect. So I would still say yes, a webinar is an event, but I'd love to hear your thoughts on the topic?"
So, what stops you? Technology, fear that no one will come or you just don’t know where to start?
Shortly, I’ll share 3 tips on how to get started, but first WHY get started?
🌟Reach more people
🌟Position yourself as an expert
🌟Grow your brand and your business
Aren’t these GREAT reasons? Now that you’re convinced! Here are 3 tips on how to get started:
Set a goal
Why are you running this webinar? What are you looking to achieve? Are you looking to get brand awareness? Are you looking to get more people in your database? Are you looking to connect with your current clients? Are you looking to get future clients and make some sales? Set a goal. I would recommend setting one goal so that we don't overwhelm ourselves and work towards that goal.Use the tech you know
Ticket platform, Social Media, Zoom. Use what you already know. We don't need fancy technology. We already understand, most of us, how to use a ticketing platform. Whether that's Eventbrite or Humanitix or whatever ticketing platform you choose to use. Use your social media networks, use your Facebook events, your LinkedIn events, and use Zoom. Zoom is a great platform, makes it really easy to integrate both into your ticketing and into your social media. With just these three things, which you already have in your toolkit, are enough to run your own webinars.Don’t be afraid to fail/learn
What is the worst thing that can possibly happen? Even, if no one shows up, which I highly doubt, but, even if no one shows up, it’s such a great learning experience. You've had the opportunity to set up your tickets. You've had the opportunity to do some promotion through social media. You've had the opportunity to create some content. And so, you're already 10 steps ahead versus not running webinar at all. Simply by planning and promoting your webinar you’re getting information about you out there. You’ve got some content out there. You're already making a buzz. And so the webinar itself is the last thing that we should be afraid of.
Embrace the fear and the learning run a webinar. It is one of the best ways to get our brand and our business visible.
