đź“Ł Soooo much information to share!

As an expert in your profession/field you have soooo much information to share.

But, how do you structure your content in a slide presentation?

Have you sat down to create your slide deck for a webinar and wondered, how the #$%& do I get what’s in my head on to some slides and NOT overwhelm my audience? How do I get this information out of my head and into a slide presentation, that's going to be engaging, informative, fun, and really bring my audience the value that they've come to gain from me.

So, today, I am sharing with you a simple structure that you can follow to make the slide creation process easier.

How to Create Your Slide Content - SIMPLE STRUCTURE:

đź’ˇ Section 1 (Slide 1) - Your Webinar Graphic

Here we use the graphic that we have used for all of our promotion, the same graphic that sits on your landing page or on the ticketing page. And why did we do that? Very simple. It's so that when people come to our webinars, they know they're in the right place.

đź’ˇ Section 2 - Introduction: Problem, Topic, Yourself

Now the introductory section comes in three parts. Most people get this wrong. Most people start with talking about themselves and yet our audience also wants to hear about themselves. And so we start this section by talking about the problem that you were there to solve. The problem that your audience faces, because let's face it, they've come to your webinar for you to help them solve their problem. So the very first section of interest section is talking about the problem your audience faces.

Now here, it's a really good idea to show your teachable framework or your visual models. This is where we can talk about what you're going to talk about and represent it visually with a model. Also a good idea is to talk about maybe the history of the topic and a brief overview, and only then once we've helped our audience understand that we know their problem and that we know the topic, we have the right to talk about ourselves. And this is where we introduce ourselves and showcase our authority, show our audience, why we are the best person to give them the information that we promise we're going to give them.

đź’ˇ Section 3 - Topics: Topic 1, Topic 2, Topic 3 etc.

This section is really quite simple. We talk about topic 1, then topic 2, then topic 3 but we need to make sure that this is a strategic and logical and leads people through a process. Here, it's really great to have things like a Q&A section and create a Q&A slide. So we have a Topic 1 - Q&A, Topic 2 - Q&A, Topic 3, etcetera. People do ask “how many topics can we cover?” My recommendation is if you're doing a short webinar. So between, you know, 40 minutes and an hour and a bit, I stick to sort of three topics and then really roll out dependent on how long your webinar is. But please don't overwhelm our audience. Again, we want to ensure, share more naturally want to share more, but in this particular case - Less is More. So let's try and be very concise. What do they have to know?

đź’ˇ Conclusion: Outcome

This is a really opportune time to remind people of what you've covered, remind them that you've covered, or you've completed the promise that you've started at the start. So this particular topic is how to create your slides - a simple structure. This is where you would say, "So now I've showed you how to create your slides in a simple structure." In this section we get our audience buy-in. We need them to agree with the fact that what they’ve come here for is what they’ve received so that we meet there and we get buy-in from them because the next section is the most important section. And it is the section that most people forget.

đź’ˇ Call To Action: What is the next step???

Don't shy away from the call to action and leave yourself enough time for your call to action. You don't want people to be thinking, "you said the webinar's going to be going for an hour. We're on to, you know, 59 minutes and she's just starting," or "he's just starting their call to action." Give yourself time and give your audience time because they are there for a purpose.

The call to action can be as simple as “Please Connect With Me” or as complicated as selling a really big ticket item. However, we need to make sure that our call to action is the next logical step for your audience. Don't try to sell them as they say the wedding before the coffee. It's really important that we understand what is the next logical step for our audience.

🙌 Final tip. Write your content, then BUILD YOUR SLIDES LAST.

It really helps you to structure your ideas, structure your thought processes and keeping this particular structure in mind. You can then quite easily write these down into your content slides.
